Teachers

PeaceOpoly focuses on the use of interactive and participatory teaching methods, organizing cooperative group work and facilitating group discussions. The use of these types of teaching methods is essential to quality basic education and enables teachers to convey values of cooperation, respect for conflicting opinions and appreciation of differences.

Teachers learn to create curriculum content that encourages the expression of opinions regarding peace and non-violent approaches to resolving issues. Students will be expected to improve their knowledge and skills by participating in activities and cooperating with others to complete projects. By creating an environment filled with care, tolerance and respect, teachers encourage the exploration and free exchange of ideas related to peace.

PeaceOpoly Toolkit for Educators is designed to help teachers introduce peacebuilding themes and skills into their classrooms. Topics include conflict analysis, mediation, negotiation and problem-solving.
